This race has been canceled due to lack of participation the last couple of weeks. If it rains , we may get another date, I will post as soon as I hear.
HUDSON SPEEDWAY
9–13–09
Winners changed this week with Dave Halliwell taking the win in the adult division from Chris Igo having an ill handeling car, and Nate Bubello taking a close win in the young guns with a close race throughout the feature between he and Bobby Stirk bumper to bumper and swapping the lead a couple of times, unfortunatly Bobby ended up narroly missing the front stretch wall with only superficial damage to his race car. great day for everyone.
We are waiting to hear about additional races, which will be reflected by the car count. Come on down and have some fun. I will be posting the pictures from last week and this weekend the first of next week, plus we will add additional pictures and ifo concerning next year. I have already started on developing the “new eb page ” for next season and we will be dioing away with this one. We want to that everyone who has participated this year, and even though the races were fewr, they were a blast. Till next week.

LEE USA SPEEDWAY OCTOBER 12, 2008
The weather was great the track was rubbered up and the Super cups were fast. Monitoring the practices the top five fast cars in order were the #16 Josh Ireland #99 Fred Ireland #31 Mike Crawford #3 Dave Helliwell #22 Brian Mondeau.
Brian Mondeau drew the first spot in the Heat race with The #65 of Derryck Anderson on the outside pole, #3 of Dave helliway 3rd, #9 of Bobby Stirk 4th,#99 Fred Ireland 5th, #20 Gerry Phillips 6th, #18 Brad Tripp 7th, #16 Josh Ireland 8th, and the #31 Mike Crawford the points leader tagging up the rear. Wile Travis Dunbar still in the Pitts troubleshooting the #2.
The Heat race started with the #16 of Josh Ireland, #65 of Derryek Anderson and the #3 of Dave Helliway going at it for the 2nd spot. While Mondeau held the lead. At the same time, The #20 of Gerry Phillips and the #31 of Mike Crawford going at it hard for the 4th. & 5th.
On lap three, the 16, 65, & 3 take it three wide in that order in the middle of turn one and two. The #65 Anderson the meat in the sandwich spins out middle off turn 2 and the #31 Crawford and #20 Phillips did a great job to scatter quick to avoid the spinning #65.
On the restart the #99 Fred Ireland gets by the #22 of Mondeau the #16 Josh Ireland follows Dad. The #3 Helliway works on Mondeau’s #22 and gets by.
The last 8 laps the #99 and #16 go at it to the stripe with the #99 capturing the heat win followed by 16, 3, 22, 65, 31, 20, 9, 18, 2.
Feature Race
Feature Race The Feature race started with the #99 of Fred Ireland on the pole, the #16 of Josh Ireland outside Dad, The #3 of Dave Helliway, #22 of Brian Mondeau, #65 of Derryck Anderson, #31 of Mike Crawford, #20 of Gerry Phillips, #9 of Bobby Stirk, #18 of Brad Tripp, And #2 of Travis Dunbar.Lap two, the super cups were just getting wound up with the #99 Fred Ireland leading the field still in the starting order, when the #65 Anderson spins out middle of turn 1 and 2 at just about the same spot as the heat race. This time Crawford spins the #31 out to avoid the spinning #65, Crawford gets by the #65 only to have the #65 back into him while he was rolling down the track after his spin.At the restart, Fred Ireland’s #99 lead with the 16, 3, 22, 20, 2, 9, 18, and 31.Next lap, the 99, 16, 3, and 22 start to break away from the rest of the field when the 65 Anderson comes back on the track breaking the momentum of the 20 Phillips and the 31 Crawford running 5th. And 6th. Followed by the 2 Dunbar, 9 Stirk, and 18 Tripp. For the remaining laps it was the Farther son battle of Fred Ireland’s #99 and son Josh’s #16 along with the #3 of Dave Helliway nipping at the #16, while Mondeau’s #22 try to get by the #3, Closing fast on the lead pack was the #20 Phillips and #31 Crawford.Just when it looked like we might see some good 10 to go racing the white flag flew prematurely at lap 9 cutting the race to 10 laps, not the schedueled 20 laps. The #99 of Fred Ireland held off son Josh’s #16 for the well deserved win, Followed by the #3 of Dave Helliway, #22 Brian Mondeau, #20 Gerry Phillips, #31 Mike Crawford, #2 Travis Dunbar, #9 Bobby Stirk, #18 Brad Tripp, and the #65 Derryck Anderson.Congratulations to all the drivers you all put on a great show, even though we’ll never know what would have happened if we had those extra 10 laps!Congratulations to Bobby Stirk and Derryck Anderson on your first NHMCA seniors start. Thanks to Fred and Josh Ireland, Gerry Phillips, Travis Dunbar, Brad TrippFor making the long trip down to support us.

Hudson Oct 5th. 2008
Our return to Hudson speedway we found the infield dry this time no more
“Lake Hudson”
The track was slick and fast, the racing great. After every practice it seemed everybody kept tightening up their race cars. Although you couldn’t tell it by the heats and feature, because most were still sideways.

Super cup Sr. Feature went off with the # 61 of Brett Culleton on the poll # 31 of Mike Crawford outside, # 22 of Brian Mondeau tucked up behind Culleton, the #8 of Chris Igo outside Mondeau, and the #3 of Dave Helliwell. The race start seemed to be even between Culleton and Crawford only to have the flagman call it off with one more to go. Next time by Culleton seemed to get a much better start on Crawford. Culleton’s great jump left the #22 of Mondeau and Crawford’s #31 going at it. Also with a charge by the #3 of Dave Helliwell when the #31 lost a spot trying to get under the #22.
Meanwhile the #61 of Culleton running his own line checked out on the feild. Mondeau’s #22 and Crawford’s #31 really go at it for 15 laps passing back and forth each other several times and both putting on a show for the fans. They were sideways out of two and four constantly; both saving their cars “Kyle Busch style” there was no checking up! Culleton’s #61 cruses away. Lap 18 Crawford’s #31 sticking better now takes advantage of Mondeau’s #22 sideways off 2 and beats him into turn 3 for a hard fought second place.

The super cup Jr Feature went off with the #96 of David Hutchins Jr on the poll # 9 Bobby Stirk outside # 88 of kyle De Souza 3rd #6 of Jake Spillers 4th. And the #95 of Kaitlyn Donovan 5th.
The # 88 of Kyle De Souza triggered the first of many single car spins bringing out the caution flag during the race. after the restart The #9 of Bobby Stirk was dominating early, only to have a spark plug wire come off and had to pit. but at the same time the caution flew before Stirk got to his pit keeping him on the lead lap. On the restart the #96 of Hutchins and the #88 of De Souza exchanged the lead only to have the #6 of Jake Spillers take advantage of their spin outs and cruise to the lead and the win.

We can’t forget #44 Travis Dunbar and #18 Brad Tripp from the MSRL.
Thanks for making the trip to join the New Hampshire super cups to all.
Unfortuentally thanks to Hurricane Hanna, Hudson Speedway had a lake in the infield.
Super cup Sr. #31 Mike Crawford tested the waters in the last practice when he got a run on #18 of brad Tripp going into 3 and went low trying not to punt poor Brad, but Crawford and hit the water on the berm in the middle of 3-4 with his left side tires. After creating a high wake with his left side tires he saved it out of 4 and down the front stretch. Only to loose it middle off turn 1-2 he saved it twice, but the third time he backed it in the lake.
Mike did have the presence of mind to kill the motor just before he backed it in the lake. Their he sat with water up to his steering wheel. He threw open the hatch only to see a track worker not really wanting to tread into thigh deep water. Mike yelled “hey can you help me out I forgot my Orr!”

Until the caution flew for the #96 Hutchins who got by the #50 of Medeiros only to spin it out going into turn 1 middle lane with the #50 Medeiros and the #95 of Donavan doing a great job avoiding the spin going to the high side and keeping their cars on the track. 8/11/08 UNFORTUNATLY , MOTHER NATURE REARED HER UGLY HEAD AND GAVE US A DOWNPOUR WHICH LASTED TILL 9PM PLUS, LEAVING THE THIRD TURN UNDERWATER,CANCELLING OUT SUNDAY’S RACE AT HUDSON SPEEDWAY. WE WILL BE RESCHEDULING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WANT TO THANK ALL THE TEAMS FROM SEEKONK AND MAINE WHO TRAVELLED TO MAKE THE RACE.
History was made when the largest gathering of supercups,in years, converged on Scarboro Maine’s “Beech Ridge Speedway” for the 2nd Annual 4 cylinder Nationals. 28 cars from all 4 series in the new england area, spent the day racing 2 heats with a 50 lap feature divided into 2 twenty five lap segments, with racing throughout the field . In the end , it was Francis Bernard of the MSRL taking down the victory. We will be loading some pictures and more info later.
“Cannan Fair Report 2008″
Well the races went off with no problems ,until Travis tried to take down the front stretch wall. Fortunatly I talked to him Sunday Morning, and although he’s banged up , he was thankful his safety equipment , we made mandatory, did the job. His “hutchens and double head rests” made the difference. Unfortunatly his car did not fair as well , he has extensive damage and will be out for awhile. We wish him the best on his recovery. Otherwise it was a lot of fun with everyone going home waiting for the next time at “CANNAN”. Mike Crawford, will have a report shortly. See everyone at the next race–
OUR RACE REPORT FOR CANNAN FROM OUR PIT CORRESPONDENT “Big Mike”

We want to congratulate Mike Crawford for his first NHMCA feature win
Our thoughts and prayers are with Travis Dunbar for his speedy recovery after his crash in the feature race Saturday night.
The heat race started with the 22 of Brian Mondeau the 2007 Young Guns champion on the pole. The 11 of Tony McLaughlin outside, the 20 of Gerry Phillips 3rd, the 31 of Mike Crawford 4th, and the 44 of Travis Dunbar 5th. Crawford got by Phillips early lap one then went to work on the 11 of Tony McLaughlin. The 31 and the 11 went at it for several laps wile the 22 seemed to be getting away from the pack. Around lap 4 McLaughlin and Crawford were still going at it side by side, until McLaughlin slid up the track coming off 4 and Crawford managed to get by and set sail for the 22 of Mondeau. On lap five heading into turn 1 the 31 of Crawford took the 22 of Mondeau on the outside and cruised to the heat win.
The feature started with the 31 of Crawford on the pole the 22 of Mondeau outside. Crawford was off to early lead only to have the unfortunate red flag crash of Travis Dunbar’s 44 in the turn 4 wall on lap 2. When racing resumed Crawford’s 31 took off, and after 15 laps had a half straightaway lead on the pack. The 3 car of John Roche was dicing it up with the 20 of Gerry Phillips, when the caution came out for the 11 Tony McLaughlin spinning off turn 4. This set up a 5 lap dash between Crawford and Roche. Roche looked like he had something for the 31 of Crawford as they battled side by side for 3 laps. Until Crawford took the lead back with two laps to go, and captured the checkered flag, with John Roche 2nd., Gerry Phillips 3rd., Brian Mondeau 4th. and Tony McLaughlin 5th. |
